hmt stands for Hindustan Machine Tools

Finally - eight years after having bought these watches in Mumbai - my 15 hmt models get their own overview page. The dimensions of each model are on the page with the Front picture. The Calibers were obviously licensed from Citizen/Miyota, Japan and manufactured by hmt in Bangalore.
This table is not an attempt at photographic excellence but rather a documentation of 15 my hmt models. Finally I linked to one of the reasons (TITAN ultra-slim EDGE Quartz models) why these hmt mechanicals are not as revered today as they were almost 50 years ago.
