WS 25 Battery change on MechaQuartz IWC Caliber 631 R397 (SR726SW)
I almost made a mistake and unscrewed a bracelet link (screwed links that
require to hold two screw-drivers from either side of the bracelet). Until I
vaguely remembered that those typical DaVinci lugs had springbars! A slight push
with a pin pusher and the bracelet slid out nicely.
For a bracelet quartz watch, open the clasp, that is normally the easiest way to
open the bracelet to have a good access to the case back. I do not really like
to remove the entire bracelet because the gaps in the end-links are often narrow
and hard on the spring bar fork. Also it is sometimes quite hard to put the
bracelet back on. If it is easy, the bracelet is most likely quite loosely fit
to the case and then the watch makes this rattling sound when worn. Also not
really what watch enthusiasts like. But in my eyes, you safe yourself a lot of
time if you quickly open the bracelet before opening the case back.
