WS 20: Replacing the battery on a Patek Philippe Ladies' Quartz Nautilus
Replacing the movement
This proved to be not difficult at all. I simply aligned the slotted crown part in the case with the position of the stem in the movement and pushed on the edge of the movement in direction to the crown. With an audible click, the split stem engaged and the movement was in position.
Closing the case
I cleaned the case and the underside of the bezel. I had found some dried silicon. I had washed the gasket ring with lukewarm soap water before. Then I applied a thin film of watch grease (silicon) on it. Placed it carefully on the lower case and placed the bezel onto it. Replaced the 4 screws and then I was so excited to see the closed watch "ticking" with a fresh battery.
This the end of the technical part, what follows is a couple of pictures of the watch that I took this morning on the French National Day 2005. If you want to see a real classic Ladies' watch, then click on the picture below and read on.
