The most expensive hmt Models I brought
back in December 2003: Kedar De Luxe priced at USD 42. Automatic Day-Date gold
plated. This is the Indian take on the Rado Diastar which was wildly popular in
the 70ies due to it's revolutionary scratch resistance. I have no information
about the thickness of the gold-plating. However given the low price, I assume
it must be around 3 micron electro-plated.
In ca. 2001 Titan had patented a new gold-plating that would allow a very thin
and very hard layer of gold. Also this new gold-plating technology would
increase the life of the gold layer significantly.
