Closer look at the very hard to photograph dial because the mineral crystal
is domed - the scale allows you to read the day of the week for
How does it work? On the upper scale, you move
the YEAR under the MONTH. Then you can read out the DAY on the lower scale for a
given DATE. Leap Years are marked read on the YEAR scale.
Select JAN
and FEB
with the inverted background for Leap Years.

Really great lume on this watch as you can see from this picture, the lume
even illuminates the under laying scale for the month

Watch is of course all stainless steel, the soft red tone is the reflection
of my fingers holding the watch

Just to show the high gloss on Orient backs, amazing the intended reflection
of my fingers through the factory plastic sticker on the back!

Why I think this WATCH is interesting:
Now this is certainly a another watch that will start discussions! Ideal for
"Inspector Gadgets", engineers, mathematicians and all other folks that
still love to use slide-rulers and scales. Definitely a "different" watch
with great looks! Solid link bracelet, a hefty 130 grams heavy, Orient
in-house movement EUAA, double push button clasp, thick mineral crystal and
22 mm lug size. So you could also put it onto a Seiko Diver's rubber strap
if you really have big wrists!
Pusher at 2 o'clock sets Year and Day (circular scales) and Crown at 3
o'clock sets time and Date. Note that the watch also handles Leap Years
(
FEB
and
JAN
inverted)! |
