What does Grey Market mean?
The grey market is a market where a wholesaler is supplying original
watches to watch shops that are not necessarily authorized dealers. The only
difference is, that the watches will come without the blue Seiko Warranty
booklet and the Warranty Certificate (paper card, normally found in pocket at
the last page of the Seiko Warranty booklet). Since I trust the quality control
of Seiko and since I have never heard of a Seiko Monster yet another watch with
the reliable Caliber 7S26 having troubles, I decided to add those 10 grey market
Monsters to my site.
What if the Grey Market Orange Monster
needs repair or service?
Theoretically Authorized Seiko Repair centers refuse (that is the official
Seiko text) to repair those watches. Practically they cannot refuse your
original Seiko watch, because you could simply tell them that your received this
watch as a gift or you could tell them, that your partner threw the manual and
warranty card into the trash bin during spring cleaning. Thus, there is actually
nothing to worry.
Is it legal to buy Grey Market watches?
Of course it is legal. The grey market is nothing else then a free floating
market bypassing some middle men and distributors thus offering better prices.
Those are original products, they are simply not sold through an authorized
dealer. Because of new distribution channels like the internet, the grey
market's volume will continue to grow.
What extra precautions does PMWF take
to protect its customers
We checked all grey market Monsters extra carefully for eventual defects. And
this after our supplier had checked them already. As with all the watches sold
on PMWC, we check the dial, the alignment of the hands, the date change and all
the surfaces of the watch. The watches come with original factory wrappings and
we have learned to trust SEIKO's quality management. We have never found a watch
with a defect!

Just turned it away from the light a bit, in case you did
not know about this watch's luminosity!

Watches come in original SEIKO factory plastic wrappings
and with hanging tags (not in all pictures)
