Vintage Rolex from the 80ies:
Quickset Date yet Acrylic Crystal
Rolex Oyster Perpetual Mens 36 mm Date Just Stainless steel
on Jubilee bracelet
OK, all the bad news first: the Jubilee bracelet is resized to ft a 6.5 inch wrist and there are no additional links. Also no box and no papers. There is almost no lume left.
Now, all the good news: Quick set date and the watch is hacking! Hacking is a term often used in military watches and a requirement for these too, it means that the second hand stops if the crown is pulled out to make synchronization to a time source or regiment time easier.
Generally the watch is in very good condition and has been worn very carefully. There are a couple of hairlines on case and crystal. And there is a short and straight scratch on the side of the clasp and some smaller scratches on the opposite side of the clasp. Both from attempts to resize the bracelet via the holes in the clasp. But the watch shows overall very consistent signs of wear and was definitely worn by a careful first owner that must have used it for dress purposes only given its age. The overall condition is at least 80 - 85% and the watch looks simply great with its Roman indices. Hardly visible by naked eye (only on the pictures inside), the dial shows some discoloration between X and XI and also some discolorations below the "RT" of OFFICIALLY CERTIFIED and just left of the date window. But please click on the thumbnail above and have a look at the pictures! I have added new pictures in March 2006.
