Watch is not handwinding! But this does not really matter since the Orient automatic winding mechanism is great and will keep this watch going even if you are a "couch potato". To start the watch, a couple of swirls (circles of about 8 inches) will start it with no problem. The second "crown" at 2 o'clock is a quick set date pusher.
