Expedition Series: "Perpetual Calendar" T45531, 2006

Funny that I bought a watch "Made in the Philippines" owned by a US company on the Swiss national day! But I was so curious to see what is inside that watch. I expect a Citizien Caliber 766 or something similar. Because my blue Campmor chronograph also came with a Citizen movement.
The INDIGLO backlight comes with a light push on the big crown. The hands are lumed with normal Luminova as is the bezel dot at 12. The watch is 42.5 mm in diameter, 12 mm high and has a brownish PVD finish on the stainless steel case. The watch looks really great on the wrist - for my taste that is. I had been looking at the EXPEDITION Series from TIMEX for a while now and when I had the chance to buy one locally at 25% off MSRP, I took the chance. I could not be happier! After I had bought the watch, I found another excuse, I had recently given away my black PVD Orsa, so I "needed" another stainless steel case with PVD coating. At 70 grams on this water resistant thick padded leather strap, the watch feels just right, even on a small wrist of 6.5 inches like mine.
Besides the Perpetual Calendar (like TIMEX printed on the underside of the mineral crystal), the watch features a nice day window at 9 o'clock and I also like that TIMEX chose to go with a CR 2016 (Panasonic) watch cell that will make sure that this watch's battery life comes close to the advertised 7 years. Of course this will also greatly depend on how many times you press the INDIGLO button (crown).
*I assume second largest in terms of exhibited total value, there are some very expensive pieces on display, like a 70 Mio THB (1.75 Mio USD) piece. The location for the fair is perfect, a lot better then in the previous Grand Hall of Central Chidlom. Siam Paragon provides two huge rooms with a nice air-conditioning and very nice high ceilings.
