"Macchina Sportiva" by Giugiaro for Seiko, 1996

Signore Giugiaro is probably most famous for designing the Volkswagen "Rabbit" (USA) or "Golf" (Europe). Of course this Industrial designer designed many other cars and consumer goods. The "Macchina Sportiva" (sports machine) came in different dial colors (also blue, and orange blue combined, and green) and was also available with a stainless steel bracelet. Furthermore there was a analog-digital version of the same watch. This model uses the ubiquitous 7T32 alarm chronograph movement as it is found in many SEIKO alarm chronographs. The nice blue strap is water-resistant, that is why this watch qualified as my motorbike watch in the very hot tropical climate.
