Seiko Automatic Cal. 4205 "Swiss Model", Antimagnetic, ca. 2001

A gift from my friend Jose (jetan) from
Hong Kong
What a surprised, on Friday 13th 2003, I met Jose again to celebrate a hard
week's work. He handed me a great Omega book explaining the Co-Axial escapement,
great! If that was not enough, he then pulled this lovely Seiko out of his bag
and said, remember this "Swiss Model"? And of course I did. I had spotted this
Seiko, obviously designed for the Swiss or European market with better hands and
case finish and nickel free (antimagnetic and anti-allergenic). The movement
4205 winds very smoothly, it does not hack. The dial is lumbrite, I still
remember the day I bought my first Seiko with Lumibrite dial, the
Kinetic with a Wold Map
on the watch face. That was about 8 years ago, I went straight to the Cinema
after having purchased the watch to see whether that World Map would show in the
dark, and it did, and thus I missed most of the movie :-)
Later I had bought my mother a Military Seiko Kinetic with Lumibrite face
because this was so easy to read and because she felt easy wearing this Seiko
for gardening. And now I have another Lumibrite in my collection, thank you
Jose! That was really a great surprise after a very hard week!
