Cricket 1997 with new Inhouse Movement

This new caliber "1997" by Revue Thommen
works differently
from the previous AS500x. The "A.Schild" calibers (as well as the e.g. the
Vostoks based on it) use the crown at 2 o'clock to set the alarm time and to
wind the alarm spring. The crown at 4 o'clock controls the time just like in any
automatic movement.
With the new caliber, the crown positions have changed. Actually that "crown" at
2 o'clock is a push button that activates or deactivates the alarm. With the
"1997" caliber, the alarm time is set via the crown at 3 o'clock. Turning this
crown when pulled out in position 1, sets the time (clockwise). When turning it
counter clockwise, it sets the alarm time (only backward). The small indices 10
- 30 - 50 help you to set the alarm time. One little disadvantage with this
caliber, one can only tell from the button position at 2 o'clock sticking out a
bit further, that the alarm is activated.
