16th Hong Kong Travel Report June 2003
Dear All
Those were very scary times, SARS had
basically paralyzed the whole of Asia. In May 2003 the World Health Organization
had issued a "travel advisory" suggesting to travelers to cancel all trips to
most
Asian destinations. I still had to restock new watches for PMWC, so what to do?
I waited until the WHO lifted its travel advisory and went to Hong Kong anyway. As you
will see from the pictures of the Bangkok airport, not many travelers around
during these uncertain times. I was in contact with friends that
work in Life and Health insurance and always got the latest updates. Thus I
felt confident that with the proper precautions (N95 or similar mask has to be
worn when on public transportation) my travel would not impose any danger on my
family and friends here in Bangkok and in Hong Kong.
Added the tabular report style to this travelogue from June 2003 in July 2004.

This is the last Hong Kong travel report. I still have one on stock. But I
do not have the time to write the report right now. And, I also want to spend some time with my watches and with my watch friends on the PMWF! |
Best regards
