B.W. Raymond railroad grade Elgin Pocketwatch, a gift from a watch friend 2006

Thank you Harold Clitheroe for the additional info on HOW
TO wear a pocket watch...
I was so proud of my leather bag, then Harold posted this on the PMWF.com
... please use a watch chain with it. if you
accidenatlly drop any nice old PW, you will more than likely break the staff. A
chain will prevent them from hitting the cold hard ground. When pocket watches
were (and they actually still are) approved for work with Canadian Pacific,
chains were a mandatory requirement from the Timekeepers Office...
Point taken Harold! I had then archived this suggestion:
Another way to wear a Pocketwatch and got the idea for the above
leather strap. The longish cut-out can be used to fit the upper end to a shirt
button or as in the picture, to thread the strap and attach it to a belt or a
belt loop etc.
And cutting that strap was a lot easier then stitching the bag :) That took
about 5 minutes including cutting the slot and cleaning out the edges of the
leather a bit.
