Not sure why these Chinese watches have short hour and minute hands. It might simply be a cost saving factor. If there were only a limited number of hands manufacturers with a limited selection of watch hands, the watch manufacturers would choose the same hands for bigger and smaller watches.
The date on this watch can be displayed in Chinese and English. Pulling the crown out one position corrects the weekday when turning the crown clock-wise. Turning it counter clock-wise adjusts the date. On this model, it takes quite some force to pull the crown out to position two to adjust time. Also the crown is very small and the winding is a bit rough. I do not remember the exact price I paid for this watch, but it was something around 80 Yuan or USD 10.
