I had obviously forgotten about this page...
when playing with the digital compass during the Thai New Year 2008 (mid April). I was getting slightly annoyed by the bearings being not consistent at all. I was using the compass on the terrace of a high apartment building. Since the terrace is covered by the terrace on the next higher floor, it is much like using the watch indoors. I have marked that paragraph from the manual page in red above.
