Casio Illuminator MTD-1049 - Don't buy this watch!
November 5th, 2013 - Crystal is fogged again
The battery - a single CR2016 - had stopped working. I opened the watch, removed the CR2016 and then had a close look at the crystal. It is a bit hard to see in this picture, but trust me, the crystal is fogged on the inside. Just like in August 2006 when I first detected this problem. While I do not have the scientific proof, I suspect it is the dial paint of the watch that is instable. Therefore I strongly recommend that you stay away from the Casio Illuminator MTD-1049. Some of the series might be OK, but I would not take the risk. It is just too annoying. Cleaning the inside of a crystal perfectly is hard work. Washing it with warm soap water is easy. But cleaning the crystal so there are no and absolutely no traces from water droplets left, is hard work for me. And doing it repeatedly - because the dial paint is continuing to release some gas - is ruining the joy of owning this watch.
November 6th, 2013 - Chuck suggests on PMWF.com/Facebook to use "Invisible Glass", I have never used this US product, it sounds promising though
