Casio Edifice Tough Solar 5289 (Cased in China), June 2013

The watch looks great from any angle
From this angle you barely see the dial inscriptions that are printed in grey. The appearance of this watch is very close to a classical two-register chronograph. By just looking at the watch, nobody would guess that this is an alarm chronograph with world time plus a lap counter including fastest lap display. In my opinion, CASIO has done a great job to keep the dial legible and good looking. "Less is more" - for me it is very nice to see that this design paradigm has found the way to Japan. Japanese multi-function watches used to have dials that were "littered" with texts and indicators. CASIO proofs that multi-function watches can beautiful and very legible.
