Precisionist Claremont 96B129 with Sweep Seconds

The most striking features of the Claremont Precisionist
for me are the curved case and crystal, the three dimensional hour numerals and of course the sweeping second hand. The curved case makes it possible for me to wear this watch comfortably despite its 44 mm diameter. A very clever design element and good looking too in my opinion. I love three dimensional dials and the numerals of the Claremont really are a feast for the eye. Next you will probably notice the styled short end of the second hand. It's the Precisionist logo. When I first saw it I was thinking of a pair of scissors. I could have done without that "P" but this was not a deal breaker. The stylized "P" also looks similar to the mathematical infinity sign
which is probably intended. The hour numerals have a linear brush which makes them really shine at certain angles.  The hour hand reaches that matte silver hour chapter ring with a little groove for each hour. The minute hand reaches the middle of the hour indices. I think Bulova got the length right here. Something I tend to forget to check when I buy new watches, too short hands have a silly look for them. Also they are not very functional as your eye will have to do more work reading the time.
For non-WIS, the sweeping second hand will most likely be interpreted for this to be an automatic watch. From the first day of ownership, I have been enjoying watching this second hand solemnly circle around the dial. I have also tried to listen to it. With most Quartz watches you will be able to hear the tick-tock. But not with this one, it is absolutely silent. I guess the thick crystal and case are the cause of the silence. I turned out that I had to look three times at the dial to read the time. My first look followed the sweeping second hand. My second look admired the three dimensional numerals. And then I had to look again to check what time it was. I guess that is why there is an idiot in Watch Idiot Savant.
