About the Accurist Brand
The Accurist brand is in fact an
English marketing brand. They were started, apparently, by the Loftus
family in 1946 to assemble and market watches using Swiss & Japanese components. They
started up in Clerkenwell, which is at least the right place for watches in
London.
Thank you Michael Wright (UK) for sending me this additional information.
The Chameleon (not from Boy George)
My model acts like a Chameleon. The crystal has no AR coating, that always makes
it a bit more difficult if the dials are dark. But it must be the combination of
the dark blue changing blue of the dial with the 2-tone case and bracelet which
result in a different color appearance of the watch for almost every shot. I
have re-shot the watch in March 2006, but finally decided to show you the
unaltered pictures (only resized of course). It is really quite an interesting
phenomena how this Accurist changes its appearance.
