Those two little wheels in focus
are the winding wheels. Unlike the Seiko 7S26 and some (not all!) Miyota 82xx
calibers, the ETA 2824 has hand winding capabilities.
I have often read that one should wind Automatic watches more carefully then
Handwinds, and it is true. The winding mechanism is a lot more fragile then on a
Hand
