I've seen some interesting discussion re: Cortebert/Unitas/Molnija cross-pollination n/tby Ethan_Mack - Poor Man's Watch Forum this one. as plain as it is, is actually a semi-rare findby Ethan_Mack - Poor Man's Watch Forum there's a certain DNA-strain running through the stream here....by Ethan_Mack - Poor Man's Watch Forum but this isnt one. This just happens to be very large for a Cortebert model, but that's only because they didn't make the movement. Its a Swiss Unitas 6497/6498 which dates this as among the last of the Cortebert's sold in the 70's before they vanished. As I mentioned before - Cortebert produced movements for Rolex & Panerai ( 40's & 50's I think) so a notable company among vintage collectors.by Ethan_Mack - Poor Man's Watch Forum Cortebert has an illustrious history having produced movement for mega-brands like Rolex. This just happened to show up at a very reasonable price, is both robust & modern enough for daily wear (as if). Curious if anyone has reference to the use f later Unitas in Cortebert case/dials?
