on that Seiko that you painted green? Dave had an integrated bracelet on a Vostok Neptune and posted how he adapted a generic bracelet to make it fit. I recall the picture in his post looked good. My favorite in the pictures you posted here is that Vostok Amphibian. Always fun to see the watches you have collected.by Kenny L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Morning Larry. Were there any parts from the donor watch that you used? I agree with your decision to use the fixed lug case; just looks better. The only thing the donor case had going for it was the screwdown back. The fixed lug model looks like the case is custom made for the movement as I don't see a spacer ring. Great job.by Kenny L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Very nice. It looks brand new. I must admit a slight pull from pocket watches. Knowing that it would sit on my desk rather than be worn is what stops me from buying one. They are things of beauty, though, often with intricate movement decorations. It's also fun to watch them in action; the click-action of the second hand, the steady tick-tock sound and the rythm of the balance wheel. Swiss watch and the seller said it needed service. After buying it I asked if he knew someone who would service it since my area didn't have many watchmakers. He said he did and we agreed for him to have it serviced before he sent it to me. The service cost was reasonable by the way. When I received it, the watch ran all right but had not been regulated and was running very slow. I suggest that one shouldn't wear a fancy watch or jewelry in an area that might tempt thieves. How you define fancy is the issue. No question that Rolex is recognized the world over, but some expensive watches aren't recognizable as such. For example, I wore a vintage Girard Perregaux in gold for 4 years in the 1990's and one of my co-workers said his Timex looked better; that he thought hisby Kenny L - Poor Man's Watch Forum A classic; like the one my late Dad wore. Seiko solar flight chrono for me today. The build quality on this watch is excellent. The chrono ticks just like a mechanical would, in half or quarter second increments. The only problem is that some of the marks on the slide rule are hard to see without magnification. I don't use that function too much anyway, so no problem.by Kenny L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Very nice! Reminds me of a Breitling Aerospace. n/tby Kenny L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Wow; 800 meters.
