You know the first Land Rover was built on a Jeep a chassis, don't you? My ride since 2001.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Tag Heuer isn't taking credit for anything other than Dicaprio's watch at the movie premier. Mystery deepens. - 3 days ago
There are some imitators of the watch showing on fake watch web sites, but they just say "Gatsby" and not a brand.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum I have not been able to find a Cartier tank with arabic numbers like that one. - 3 days ago
Every Cartier I saw a pic of online has Roman numerals.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum I would not even consider that a proper list of iconic films with watches in them. - 3 days ago
The list is 20 long, only 10-12 of the movies would be considered memorable or iconic. If the movie is not memorable, how do you have an iconic watch in the film? Ghostbusters watch? Really?by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum I agree. - 3 days ago
Bracelet links are thicker than typical vintage. Watch looks a bit larger than a curvex-style case of period. Also it would be more historically plausible for the watch to be gold for somebody of the character's wealth.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum I just don't have many Seikos anymore. - 4 days ago
I'm down to this 007 that I bought strictly to build this mod. And this beat-up Seiko 5 Sports that until a few months ago was what I wore for my job daily. Movement is starting to go bad so I put it away for now. It is also not looking as good as this pic anymore. Had it for 8 years now and it's on it's 2nd movement.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Wearing white today. - 5 days ago
DeBaufre GMT on the wrist and a Poljot in the box I'm taking to the post office today. I believe I'm done selling for a while now.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Did I do good on this one? After I learned the technique of wandering around to look for those road signs that mark highway exits or point which direction a city is in, my guesses improved. On this round the first location was an interstate within my home state. I've driven past the actual spot a number of times. Still I came even closer to the right spot on the location in Normandy. That was a total guess based on Frby Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Have a few pics around. - 6 days ago
Based on recent watch photo contests, not many people will be impressed with these. Now some "conventional" movement shots.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum No, it's in the fleet museum with the strap. Just never took a pic of it. n/tby Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Hamilton with lemonade tonight. - 8 days ago
I had to spend a half-hour playing pick-up-sticks in the lawn this afternoon after yesterday's surprise storm. You caught me wearing my Hamilton Team Earth again. I swear, I've been wearing some other watches too.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Still in the groundhog capitol of the world, and home of the Corn Fest. I remember a bit those original PMWF shirts and caps, and I think CoachJDC handled that IIRC.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum I think if Reto agrees to lend his logo... - 8 days ago

Just listed one of my longest-owned watches on the sales forum, took me a long time to write that thing up. But I'm wearing this Omega and only have about 6 more weeks to wait for my next watch to arrive.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum *SOLD* Poljot Aviator with cal. 2614 manual wind movement. - 10 days ago
** SOLD ** Poljot Aviator model by the now defunct brand of the First Moscow Watch Factory. This poor man's classic is not found for sale much anymore. The watch is a homage to the Fortis Flieger (which is in turn a homage to the German B-uhr pilot watches of WWII). I've had this watch 9 years and it was worn very infrequently for the past 5 years. It will be as sterile of a dial as they come.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Wasn't issue with my Maratac pilot. - 15 days ago
It helps a bit to have the crown angled down like that (think Seiko SKX divers), but it also hinders the fingers a bit as you unscrew the crown to wind/set. You keep having to work around the lug.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Anybody else find these teaser pics at CountyComm? - 16 days ago
It looks like the Maratac mid-pilot case with a rotating bezel added, a cleaner dial, and center seconds hand. No details actually listed yet.by Chris L - Poor Man's Watch Forum Congrats! The only thing I would have done different is... - 16 days ago
