How to Regulate W/O Opening the Case "Regulate" isn't exactly the word. I am still in love with my Invicta diver, which is my very first automatic. I bought it about 6 months ago, and I have worn it almost every day since. It was very consistently running at +2 to 3 sec./day. And then...one day I was walking past a granite counter-top and "Wham!" Ouch!. Cringe! I inspect my watch. Minor scratch on the crystal. Stillby redsquid2 - Poor Man's Watch Forum Alert: Wenger Watches at Low Prices - 2 years ago
I just noticed, there is a seller on ebay who has a lot of Wenger quartz going for $70-133. They are all listed as "Wenger Swiss Army Knife", and "New With Tags" from seller "time-and-space". I don't have the money to buy one right now. Just thought I would let everybody know.by redsquid2 - Poor Man's Watch Forum Very Nice Pix. Don't get me wrong. I know there are other ways to buy a watch besides ebay. However, I like to browse. And browse. And browse. I could either scream, "Stop the insanity!!" Or I could vomit. And check out the price. Now, my friends, if I had one of those things on my wrist, and someone asked me how much I paid for it... I would not be able to answer that question, because having one of those things on my wrist would require that I had first undergone a complete brainectomy.by redsquid2 - Poor Man's Watch Forum Guessing Auction Values - 2 years ago
Just checking in with my pastime of guessing auction values. I came pretty close on this one: I guessed $303.00 and it sold for $289: I was way off on this one. I guessed $475, and it sold for $345. I think the buyer got a real steal, even though it is slightly used. Out of curiosity, how accurate is your watch with NH25 movement? Mine's an Invicta. I am running +8-9 sec/day. It stays on the left wrist in the day, sits on the night stand, crown up, at night. Please chime in. I guess manufacturers have accuracy specifications, but I am curious about results in the real world. This is what I have. The crown comes out sometimes, just getting snagged on the edge of my jeans pocket, jacket pocket, or backpack strap. Of course, the hands and/or date moves when this happens. What can I do to prevent this, other than: wrapping it with scotch tape, or wearing it on the other arm? Actually, I don't mind wearing it on the other arm. I have a few basic tools, but I have never cleaned a movement.by redsquid2 - Russian Watches by Ed Brandwein I Like It a Lot - 2 years ago
I don't know anything about the movement, so I don't know if it is worth $700. 24-hour movement? I never had one. I would want it to be very accurate for that price, like +/- 5 sec./day. Domed crystal is a plus. I love that it has its own style; hands, lume colors, bracelet links, caseback. One thing I don't get is the bezel. Lapsed time, in hours? Seems not so precise.by redsquid2 - Poor Man's Watch Forum |
