Installment 2 of JT Cruise, November 2010 - Today, Cartagena, Colombia

Today we stop at the northern tip of South America in the beautiful city of Cartegena, Colombia.

Wow! Was I blown away when I first saw the Cartagena skyline! A shuttle driver in Miami called it the little Miami, but this may be Big Miami!!



Cartagena is actually two cities in one, the modern shown above and an old walled fortress that goes back several centuries. We hired a cool dude named Marcos to show us around.



We started out in Old Cartegena, which is a beautiful old city with colorful, narrow, cobblestone streets













Some on the cruise purchased an optional tour via horse buggy



That's me in the black shirt. For my shore excursions, I generally wore my Vostok given to me by Jinxed and NOT-YET modified by Dave Murphy!



Remember I mentioned this was an old walled-in city.





As in most old, historical cities, the cathedrals are among the most beautiful buildings.





WTF!! Could this have been me in a previous life??!!



Break time with some new friends. These two couples live in Minnesota and upstate New York, but they both also have homes in St. Johns Island. Hmm, wonder if they would like company??....



We went to the modern city also, but quite frankly, the cool part was the old city, so no pictures.departed Cartagena late afternoon...
