ZuanShi & Dongbao calendar watches

For a while now, I’ve wanted to get a ZuanShi with date. I bought this one from a seller I like from whom I’ve purchased a substantial number of watches in the past.



The cracks in the crystal did not appear in the seller’s photos. I don’t know if something happened to it on its way here or if they just didn’t show up in the pictures. In any event, it works well.



The crown is signed with the Diamond logo. The date code is SM1-84-4 (April 1984).



Fresh from Shanghai Department Store is this Dongbao. Well, maybe not fresh, but it’s in great condition.







Dongbao was probably a store brand name. It appears that Shanghai Department Store(s?) contracted Liaoning Watch Factory to manufacture them. This one came with its original packaging.







I didn’t try to open it. Dongbao watches usually have ZLN tongjis inside.
