I really loved the SKZ249 Orange Franken-Tuna from the moment I bought it, but for some reason, the effect didn't transfer into wearing. I didn't get that proper Rolling on the floor laughing my a.. off feeling about it. Always felt to be missing something. I decided since my first SNK project went so well, it was time to try tweaking the look I want into my Frankenmonster.

I have had a fascination with the cali-style dial faces, and I think they are intriguing. I decided to bite the bullet and buy one, along with a set of silver C3 Superluminova hands from Dagaz. The flat black of the dial seems to go perfect with the black plastic diver shroud, and the silver hands go with the polished screw down crown nicely. Now I feel great about this setup when wearing it.

I noticed in this case, I was able to get away with installing this dial without a chapter ring, and it fit securely in the pins and against the inside of the case. I like this effect, since it creates a larger, cleaner looking dial area to me.

I already had a nice rough leather panatime strap with the original Seiko buckle. Really enjoy this whole package as a weekend warrior.

Also happy about the C3 lume and the original dot in the bezel being prominent in the dark. easy to read, and the less lumed dial is still very visible, but the hands stick out more, which is great, because I use the bezel as a timer very often.

Overall, I didn't expect this dial to be enough for me, it is just a basic change. It felt strange pulling that monster lume dial out and packing it safely in storage, but it seems like a massive improvement from my own wearing feel.

So the real question now is.......... What do you call this watch? Franken Cali? Cali Monster? Frankie Goes To Hollywood? <-- Haha!

I don't know what it should be called, but I'm super happy with it for now. I'll be keeping the original orange dial and hands for the future.
