I've been hoping that Vostok would re-release this model for ages. They did do a previous re-release but that one used a mineral glass crystal that was reported to have some durability issues. This one is true to the original in that it uses the old acrylic crystal. Like the original version, there is no date window. The only obvious change is the movement, the 2415b auto has been substituted for the old hand wound movement. For those of you who are curious, the old and new versions of this model are pictured below side by side. The new model uses a 22mm band instead of the older 18mm and the case dimensions appear slightly larger. One point to be noted, there is very little clearance under those hooded lugs. Forget about using a beefy bracelet or rubber strap on this one. The Nato you see pictured barely fit. Admittedly, the stock Vostok spring bars are pretty thick. A thinner, non Russian, spring bar would provide a little more clearance. So, far, I'm very pleased.

I'm also kind of wondering if the case dimensions are really taken from the very rare 300m version of the original diver that was made in the eighties I believe. That one used a 22mm band as well if recall correctly.
