Here are three new watches I picked up, so 2013 is off to a great start. Surprisingly, each watch is on the dressy side, which is not my usual style. I don't have anything against dress watches, but it seems everytime I get one, it doesn't see much action.
These three pieces are all superb in their own way and the pics don't do justice to the actual watch.
First up is the Hamilton Jazzmaster 'Art Deco' (that's my name for it). Great detailed dial, pure white with applied rose gold arabics. Somewhat unusual design to the subdial, but it's pretty cool. Great Hammy quality and huge bang for the buck, with a handmade leather strap and a somewhat uncommon ETA 2895-2 27-jewel auto movement that is running at +11/24 and a 49.5 hour power reserve.

Next up is a watch I have been considering for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge. I put a WTB ad out on the forums and lo and behold, one showed up, a Longines Master Collection Moonphase chrono. Transaction was flawless and the watch is super cool. I love the old-timey look and the silver 'barleycorn' dial and blue hands are superb. I've wanted a 'triple date' watch and this one is especially nice because the complications are set through the crown instead of pushers. There is one flush pusher on the left side of the case to set the day but that's it. And this is a real moonphase watch as well. Having a full function chronograph just sweetens the deal. A nifty piece and a lot of watch for the money.
Performance has been fine, running at +9/24 with a nice long 52.5 hour PR.

And finally, I've been wanting to add a Citizen back into the collection and I have been aware of the Signature Series automatics (Grand Classic) for some time and this one showed up at the right price. The Signature watches feature a high degree of hand craftsmanship and this watch is exceptional. Although the bracelet is made in China, it's a five-piece solid link design with a pushbutton clasp and machined deployant plus solid end links. The casework and finishing is top notch and the movement is awesome.
Caliber 9010 with handwind and hacking, 28,800 vph running in 24 jewels. Love the rotor and the design of the caseback. Performance is great, with timekeeping at -3/24 and a 45.5 hour power reserve. This watch really puts Citizen in a different light and I am very impressed.

Thanks for reading and looking.
Cheers,
-Marc
