I read a WatchTime article this morning while having my usual doppio (courtesy of Barnes & Nobles) about a new American watch brand. The summary below is mostly from memory (or the lack thereof) and their website........
Headed by a fella who used to be with Fossil. Ronda is a partner and has a stake of the company. Watches to start delivering early next year. US movement with Swiss parts. Straps from Hadley Roma. Watches will have quartz movement and price point is $400-800 . The first model is called Argonite 1069 with hand-assembled movement.
Incidently, the watch factory building, named Argonaut, used to house GM's design team. Also, Shinola also make bicycles, paper and leather goods. I sincerely hope they can maintain their focus.
For the young at heart, you might remember the old English saying "You don't know #h1t from Shinola!".
Here's an article I found through Google.
