Good evening folks! Tonight's unveiling is of a watch that I didn't even knew existed until recently, and I never thought I would get a chance to obtain one, and certainly not one in new condition!

But then our friendly Taiwanese sales forum regular Mr. Chuck Tze, suddenly advertised one, in beautiful condition! I emailed him immediately!
But I got no response!

I emailed again, and again! No response!

I posted on the Sales Forum (against the rules) and even posted in the discussion forum!

!!

Well, it turned out my email provider was having some kind of glitch and I wasn't getting emails from anyone! And look what just arrived from Taiwan, a medium sized, ratty looking box!

Great idea Chuck, no one would suspect what jewel lies within!!

I sawed off one side, and revealed a some fascinating local news!

I small story about Obama and big spread about a mouse that rides a small dog, while wearing a Cowboy outfit! Hi-oh Silver!

Wrapped in the local news was a nice white Seiko box.

And inside the nice white box, was an even nicer black, padded leatherette gift box. Let's pry her open shall we?

Woohoo! Got it open on the first try! Can you see the watch? Copiously wrapped in bubble wrap - thank you very much Chuck! Looks like a chronograph to me, you can see the sub-dials!!

Oh wait, maybe those are just bubbles? Well, let's get the wrap off and find out!

Ahh, there it is! It's one of those Seiko Solar Divers that are called Jewel Fish! Very bizarre watches with domed crystals and clear acrylic bezels, with raised numbers inside the bezel and the minute ring is actually painted on the underside of the crystal!!
Rated for 100m, with the word Scuba on the dial and a screw-down crown, but it's still hard to take these seriously as a tool watch, they are just too 'fancy'. Shall we get a closer look?

This particular model is the SBCB001, with a dark green-blue dial and bezel of a similar hue but lighter. My other two (yes I have three of these!) have a dark blue and white second hand, while this model sports a bright red and white version.
The bracelets are quite comfortable, but they do taper drastically. When I got my first one of these I made up the term "cocktail diver" to describe their overly delicate, fanciful styling, but they were sold as real divers.

In fact here is an old catalog page for several of the models, although the SBCB001 is not shown.

So now I have all three of the non-chronograph models, the blue-silver SBCB003, the yellow-gold SBCB005 and now the green-blue SBCB001. I wonder how many folks can claim THAT honor!!

Here is one of my patented "blinky" shots of all three!

That's all for tonight! I hope you enjoyed the show! Thank you Mr. Tze for yet another great transaction!
