I'm going to attempt to clean my trench watch. It's basically a women's pocket watch movement. I've taken apart a few pocket watch movements in the past so I'm not too worried about breaking anything

I've read in a book on repairing/cleaning old fusee pocket watches that one can use lighter fluid to clean/de-oil the plates and balance assembly. My question is can I use mineral water instead? Will mineral water damage the gilded finish on the movement? Second question, what type/brand of oil should I use? I know the book mentions about oiling but it's so confusing

Here's a pic of the movement if helps. Thanks guys!

Chris
