Thumbs up or down? Fisheye lenses: cool or dust collectors in the photo bag?

I've always been intrigued by those manual focus fisheye lenses made by Samyang/Rokinon/Walimex. The Nikon mount ones even seem to work in aperture priority mode. For around $300 the seem to be worth a try - reviews are rather prositve on these. BUT: does the novelty effect wear off rather fast and these end up as dust collectors in the photo bag? What do you think?

If you get a "name brand" fisheye, your photo editing software might be able to remove the fisheye distortion.

I've never seen one in person. Used ones seem to go for almost the same price as new ones....

All depends how much you like the look. But...... Jpeg Attachments

I have an 18-105 mm lense which covers 99% of my wide angle needs...
