These are the perils of fakes, and why I'm opposed to them.
I work on several watches a week, and many times people send me watches branded SEIKO that are not SEIKO products. Needless to say, it's sad to have to inform people that their watches are fakes, as well as a waste of time, shipping costs, and efforts to the customer as well as myself. Here is an example of 3 watches sent for work, with the 009 (red/blue) being genuine, while the two "007"s are fake. This is wrong for obvious reasons. My feelings on this begin with false branded "aftermarket" (fake) dials, and extend to the full spectrum of fake branded watches, parts, and accessories.
Top is fake, and the edges of the lugs are sharp enough to cut your arms...Although it looks "almost" OK, it sucks.

Note the lack of bevelling on the sides of the lugs on the "aftermarket" piece..

Look at the font and print of the dial..and the black datewheel on this one...NOT SEIKO. The minute hand has uneven and inferior lume, and the "aftermarket" (fake, let's not kid ourselves) dial does not even glow.

Nothing is correct about this, but close enough to fool someone not "in the know"..The bezel pip is wrong, the materials are inferior, the lume doesn't glow, and the crystal has very crummy belvelled edges....

Thanks, and be careful.
