Jack Bauer on "24"

So my wife and I just started watching "24" on Netflix (I know, we're a TAD behind the times :D). Of course, I noticed Jack Bauer's black sub-like watch and had to look it up on Jim's site. It was ID'd on the site as a fake Rolex, so I'm curious what gave it away as a fake. I just finished watching an episode that gave an extremely good (for a TV show) close-up of the watch, and while it was clearly marked "Rolex" I wonder how someone could tell it's fake from such a quick and low-quality image like that.

Thanks guys!

Thanks James! I wondered if it might have come up in one of the later story lines. I'll let you know if I find out anything. (n/t)

This message does not contain any text.

That's a good question. The screen grab I was sent >>>>>

isn't the best (admittedly) so one cannot immediately tell from the pic. I seem to recall there were discussion about it on WUS a while back; the submitter even called it out as a fake.

That's all I know. If you come across any supporting info (or a better screen grab) let me know!
