This is a typical stone house as it is
found on the Hong Kong countryside. Yes, there is a lot of green space in Hong
Kong, even a visit to the Island suggests otherwise. Kam Tin is a typical Hong
Kong Village about 50 minutes by bus from down-town Hong Kong. 50 minutes only
because of three newly built tunnels that guarantee a fast connection.
I first learned about those Hong Kong villages from an illustrated book when
staying at the Hyatt. What a refreshing different lecture. Instead of the usual
hotel directories, the newly refurbished Hyatt provided some photo books covering
Hong Kong's rural settlements. A great idea.
I had to climb onto the roof of the annex, those stone houses are normally
clustered together and thus it is not so easy to get a good shot.
